What is Fusion Fighting System?

Fusion Fighting System teaches a variety of Martial Arts and techniques for real life self-defence situations. Our aim is to boost the students’ fitness, confidence and “street-wise” awareness. We teach a combination of different martial arts styles.
Jeet Kune Do

Jeet Kune Do

Jeet Kune Do is a martial arts style developed by Bruce Lee. It is not a system, but a set of principles. Everyone develops their own particular style, depending on what they feel their particular strengths and weaknesses are.

Wing Chun

Wing Chun

Wing Chun is a martial art which focuses on keeping relaxed and tension free. Any aggression from an opponent is deflected and used to one’s own advantage. There are a number of drills to practise this. If practised correctly, a shorter and weaker person can overcome someone who is taller and with greater strength.

Thai Boxing/ Muay Thai

Thai Boxing/ Muay Thai

This is also known as the “art of 8 limbs”. This is due to the use of fists, elbows, feet and knees. There are 8 points of contact to attack the opponent. The whole body is used when executing a move, by twisting at the hips to ensure the whole body weight is behind each strike.

Panatukan Kali (Filipino boxing)

Karate

Karate

Karate is the well known martial arts style which is practised in Japan. There are many different styles; one is to be practised like an art, another as a self defence style and a third as a full combat sport. There is a lot of emphasis on kata, (the basic moves of karate), before going on to spar with others, either with, or without full contact.

Judo

Judo also originates in Japan. It is classed as a modern martial arts, emphasising movements such as throws and takedowns.

Silat

Some may focus on striking methods, some on particular weapons, such as the karambit and some on joint manipulations.

Kickboxing

Close quarter combat

Close quarter combat

Close quarter combat was originally a military term used to describe physical confrontations between two or more combatants. It is taught in a no-nonsense way to prepare soldiers or police officers to operate safely and survive a close range encounter. It has also been adapted to teach civilians. Modern CQC is not a martial art, it is martial science. https://moderncqc.co.uk/about

We teach our students different aspects of the above techniques. We then implement these techniques into real-life scenarios to boost confidence and self-awareness. For example, we will put a student in a stress situation e.g. student standing at a bus stop , when a gang of people approach her, who try to take her valuables. The gang will shout and be physically aggressive in a controlled environment, whilst the student being tested uses the techniques learnt to see if they will work for her. Everyone will find the method that is best suited to them. This is how Fusion Fighting System is unique, it teaches lots of different techniques, but encourages a student to pick up and perfect whichever method they feel is best for them.
